Not Extreme Home Makeover...Freeman Edition

I have had a few projects on my mind for a while, small things I thought that either the kids or Travis would like. Friday night, we got two of them squared away, which without the help of Travis, I could not have finished...Thanks love!

Keep in mind, I am thrifty...didn't always use to be that way, ask my family...I was the 9 year old with 3 pairs of new Nikes, Tommy jeans and Calvin Klein shorts in 6 colors....not anymore! I have kept up with several home decor blogs that give me much inspiration...as well as daily chats with my boss about what junk we found at Goodwill and what our plans for transformation are! (ridiculous, I know, but hey...we could be doing worse with our time and money)

My first project I completed in Kayleigh's room was a shelf with letters that spell out her name on top.
Letters: Had already been purchased
Shelf: Hobby Lobby, 8.99 (50% off)
Paint: Lowes, .5 Gallon Olympic White Satin Finish Latex $10
Potted Flower: Michaels, 2.99 on clearance
Total for shelf project: 21.98

And Kayleigh loved it! On to the next one!

The kids bathroom was another place I wanted to add a little finishing touch, their walls were too blank...so I added a shelf and some small decorations.
Shelf: Hobby Lobby, 6.99 (50% off)
Paint: Left over from other project
Lighthouse figurine: Hobby Lobby, 4.99 (50% off)
Frame (3): Hobby Lobby, 4.99 (50% off)
Shell: Free, thanks to me...picked it up on the beach in Cozumel!
Clam Shell Frame: Free...was in my box of tricks...lol
Total for bathroom shelf project and 2 frames on opposite wall: 26.95

This is the picture in the frame on the shelf, I took it back in May, while we were staying at the beach.

First of many more project blogs! Travin's room is next!

Playing Catch Up...

I have not been the best blogger lately...I apologize to the FEW people who follow me! We have been so busy lately, not by necessity, but by choice. This summer has been so much fun and we have alot more time left before fall comes!

Fourth of July

We spent the day with Big Papa and Mimi at the pool, and watched the fireworks from the boat, on the river in Palatka...it was a rather cloudy day, but the most relaxing July fourth holiday I've ever had!

Movie Day

Nothing clever to say, I just thought the picture was too cute not to put on here! We went and saw Toy Story 3D...I think I liked it more than the kids, there were alot of adult jokes that kids definately would not understand!

Fishing Weekend

I went fishing with Travis for the first time...ever. I was a little nervous being that his fishing boat is a little small...to me at least. Anyways, we went Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Monday evening...I had such a great time, didn't catch a single fish but it was still a very relaxing time. Quiet...very quiet, almost too quiet! But still enjoyable!

Catching bait, while I stay in the boat, there was NO WAY I was walking in that muck! Yucko!

Salt Springs

By far, my most favorite thing that we have done this summer is our trip, this past Saturday to Salt Springs. We took the boat from Palatka all the way down, pulled the kids on the tube, watched Travis go diving for "treasures" in the mouth of the spring, had diving contests with the kids in the middle of the river and enjoyed fried chicken on the most beautiful day we have had in a long time! I want to go back!

That morning, Travin continuously teased me, that I would be affraid to get in the cold water and wouldn't get my hair wet...I definately proved him wrong! I loved the cold water!
